Responsibilities

Call for Board Candidates (desire/passion to support young adults exiting foster care)

Serve a 2-year seat on the Board of Directors

Expectations of the Board Members:
Board members should convene meetings on a quarterly basis
Be willing to give a monetary donation, annually, to support the organization.
Plan for the needs of the organization and determine an overall strategy for securing volunteer services, “in-kind” donations, partnerships, and funding to support the organization’s mission. 

Board Chair / President

Ensure the organization is operating smoothly.
Responsible for the governance of board meetings
Promote the goal to ensure young women, in the project, have access to resources needed for their safety, well-being, and their future success.
Arranges onboarding structure for new board members.
Designs the overall strategy for meeting board goals.
Serves as a spokesperson for the organization.
Plans and mediates board member meetings.
Enhance the organization’s image in the community.
Supervise committee chairpersons.
Prepare for and regular attend board meeting.
Lead the board in determining the feasibility of raising funds from various sources and for developing a plan to raise the money using methods appropriate to the organization.

Treasurer

Knowledge and experience with accounting.
Maintains and manages the financial reports for the nonprofit.
Recommends important audits to the board and executive director.
Provides information and insight about data, trends, and advice to improve budgeting.
Advising the board on how to improve budgeting for the organization.
Knowledge of the nonprofit’s bookkeeping and accounting.
Chairs the finance committee by supervising and improving financial processes while meeting fiduciary responsibilities.
