Taking Charge In A New Environment
An Empowerment Workshop For Young Women Entering The Workplace Environment
August 23rd, 2025
9:00am – 1:00pm
Bulle Rock Residence Club
1200 Bulle Rock Pkwy
Havre De Grace, MD
Event Details
The BEcome Project will host a one-day 4-hr empowerment workshop for young women entering the workplace environment. Participants will gain an understanding of the mindset, culture, and knowledge needed to become successful in an ever-changing and evolving world.
Through a series of interactive learning modules, facilitated by industry speakers and community partners, participants will acquire the preparatory skills to thoughtfully approach the workforce in a purpose driven manner.
Most young women in / aging out of the foster care system have little to no training when entering the workplace. Many are unable to find steady employment and for those who are fortunate to get a job, have trouble sustaining employment. Added to this challenge is the social media explosion, placing young women at risk for hire based on personal social content.
